So … I admit that at one point I bought a book that had makeup tips for beginners, but a former colleague borrowed it the same week I got it and didn’t never got it back years ago. I’m looking for some simple eyeliner and mascara tips, maybe a way to fade or fade the dark puffiness that I think I have under my eyes I’m very shy with the camera but I did the ILMAKIAGE test and he recommended a color but I have never used such products, I’m afraid of making mistakes, I really need help and I lack self-confidence to get started 😥 I mean i try to do my eyeliner but i only do it half on each eye, and my mascara i just deal with applying it to my upper lashes because i don’t think i have a lot of lower lashes (is that even a thing?) I feel like a fool asking these things. Also, I don’t know what kind of makeup to buy, I got some shit at the dollar store and the other day at CVS I bought an eye pencil 😅💔 shit …
My library has a couple of makeup books and I found Laura Mercier’s book to be pretty helpful for makeup purpose, technique and self care. If you like YouTube, I think Hindash and Hung Vanngo are some of the very best at teaching technique. For products, I think you could ask here by sharing your colors, skin type, budget, and what kind of formulas you already like.
Also on YouTube check out Alexandra Anele. She does a lot of great tutorials with many techniques to deal with undereyes.

I’m 38 and just started buying/wearing makeup during the pandemic. My advice is to practice, practice, practice! Especially at home alone. Build up your confidence. You WILL make mistakes, but that’s why you will have some good makeup remover to take it off and start again. You will figure out what looks and techniques work for your face. Have fun!
I would recommend watching Wayne Goss on youtube. He is lovely, very talented, knowledgeable, with really approachable techniques.
