I am a newbie and was thinking about whether to buy makeup brushes / beauty mixers or not. I’ve watched a lot of makeup artist videos recommending all of these brushes and tools and most of them are quite expensive. I am willing to pay a high amount for the makeup products themselves, but the tools ?? If you know of any affordable (but good quality and long lasting) beauty makeup brushes / blenders, please put them in the comments! thank you in advance
Definitely invest in your tools! I recommend BH Cosmetics, but check out Amazon as well!!!
For foundation and concealer, not really. I use my fingers and it works just fine.
For powdery stuff brushes do help, but luckily affordable brands like elf and wet n wild make great ones, same with Real Techniques. I have a looot of brushed but find I actually pretty much just use a shadow brush, domed fluffy crease brush, a powder brush I can use for powder/blush/bronzer/etc. and an angled liner brush if I’m using shadow as liner or potted liner or filling in brows with powder.
You don’t need a lot of tools at all.
I recently got a new set on Amazon from Docolor, 15 brushes for like $25 that are synthetic/vegan, so soft, and I’ve had no shedding at all. I also still have a couple of Sonia Kashuk brushes from target that I’ve had for upwards of 10 years. I don’t think they need to be expensive but I do think brushes are very important.
I got my first brush set from BH cosmetics and the ones that I used on a regular basis lasted about 3 years, it’s also worth stating that I treat my belongings like crap so they’ll probably last longer if you take care of them

I also use BH cosmetics brushes. I also have some morphe brushes, but I prefer the BH Cosnetics. They have a set called “studio pro”, it’s a good starter set. They always have sales too.
