Hi all! I’m looking to buy more colorful shadows but want them to be affordable. I’m a huge fan of colourpop shadows – I have 31 of their 9 pan palettes (lol). What is the BH quality? Is it similar to colourpop? I find a lot of the reviews mixed – some say great and some say terrible. Thank you!
I think it really depends on the palette you get. I feel like quality is inconsistent palette to palette (between the different palettes available, not between the same palette and different batches) based off what Iâve seen. The only palette I have from BH is the sugar cone palette. This one is good quality, canât speak for the others.
Hit and miss, like Revolution quality. Inexpensive with poor quality control.
The Sweet Shoppe ones are really nice

This isnât colorful, but I have only tried their Hangin in Hawaii palette and really liked it!
Their travel-related series (16 squared pans) and the sweet shoppe series (8 large circle pans) are EXCELLENT. But, donât bother with the rest. I thought I liked Colourpopâs formula, but that was only until I found BH. When itâs good itâs GOOD, and I adore their color combinations, their shimmers/textures, and how palettes have intriguing stories (like… the recent CP release âLimoncelloâ could have easily been a BH palette).
My faves as a color lover:
-Lost in Los Angeles: perfect pastel palette with interesting shimmers and buttery soft quality.
-Blueberry Muffin: incredible for dramatic looks and the shimmers are to die for. Surprisingly interesting and different to other palettes in the market. I feel like itâs way ahead of itâs time. Buttery, cool-toned.
-Smitten in Switzerland: good palette for everyday looks, versatile, can be work appropriate while still having potential for D R A M A.
-Avocado toast: if you love greens and warm tones this is your palette. I lean more fair/cool so I prefer blueberry muffin over this one. But this one is colorful and interesting.
-Sweet shoppe palettes: good quality but monochromatic. As you already have a lot of CP you will have lots of overlaps here except for Cotton Candy, maybe?
Some NOTS:
-Trendy in Tokyo: I have heard this one is the only palette in the travel series thatâs just meh… supposedly the colors get patchy. Stay away from this one.
-Take me to Brazil/Take me to Rio: awful all around. Chalky, poor performance.
-Basically everything else thatâs not travel-related or Sweet shoppe related.
Also, they do sales pretty frequently. Youâll be able to get the ones I recommended above for $8.50-$13.50 each if you time it right. The minimum for free shipping is $40. I also recommend their brushes and their glitter glue (which they call base glue or base primer, I think?). Have fun exploring!
I have the Full-On Crazy and the Zodiac Love Signs palette by them and both are amazing quality, but I hear they can be a bit hit and miss.
I have the Lilâ Bit Psycho palette and every time I use it I ask myself, âwhy donât my other palettes blend this easily?â
I love this lil thing. The pink metallic in it is unlike anything Iâve ever seen before.
