Hello! I am new to this subroutine, but I have an honest question. The director of Ulta convinced me to get Buxom Plumping lip gloss in the shade Erin. I never really liked plumping glosses but I figured out what it was. Anyway, my tongue burst in those little bumps on the front. It’s like my taste buds are on fire. My lips were also very dry this morning. Is it possible that the lip gloss irritated my tongue? I can’t find anything specific to the tongue irritation from the lip gloss, but it’s the only thing that makes sense as the bumps are only on the front of my tongue. I’m 99.999% sure it can’t be herpes either. What is happening?!
Check the ingredients list. Limp plumpers use irritants to plump your lips- like bee venom as someone already pointed out, mint or cinnamon. Even if you’re not allergic to cinnamon ordinarily, you may still be reacting to its concentrated form. (This is why “natural” essential oils can be dangerous).
Benadryl will help!! Sounds like an allergy or sensitivity to something in the gloss
That’s weird! I’ve used that gloss in a different shade for the last two weeks. Normally I’m very sensitive and will react to products but that one hasn’t bothered me. I actually really like it! I’m so sorry!
All plumping glosses do this to me, and I’m not allergic to bees.
Sounds like you’re mildly allergic. If you lick your lips it can definitely affect your tongue. Go exchange it for a similar color in non-plumping ❤️💜
Most plumping lip products use bee venom. Are you allergic to bee, wasp, or ant stings? If so stay away from plumpers, the allergic reaction will only get worse. Bad allergic reactions affect the mucus membranes first like throat, tongue, nose, and lips. The plumpers work by giving you a “controlled” reaction but people who are truly allergic their reaction will not stay isolated to their lips, if it travels discontinue immediately. Hope this helps.
