People who wash their brushes and sponges after each use, why do you do it too? I do this because I hate the idea of wiping bacteria-covered tools off my face after they’ve been seated. Being acne prone doesn’t help lol

I wash once a week or every 2 weeks depending on how often I wear makeup.
Since I’m a massive germaphobe I keep my vanity very clean always.
It’s very organized and gets wiped down, cleaned and dusted very regularly. I keep all my containers very clean and just everything clean in general and only touch them with clean hands. It’s also not in the bathroom so I’m not worried about the “plume” and my cat doesn’t have access to that room either. My dude knows hands off my shit as well.
I do rinse my sponges every other day tho.
As for colors and stuff I don’t have a ton of eye makeup brushes so I have these brush cleaner wipes that I’ll wipe down brushes with after or I’ll use a daily cleanser if I don’t have those. But only certain colors so like dark colors (black, brown, grey) or bright colors (red, blue, purple).
So since those are already cleaned regularly I don’t necessarily have to wash them all the time
I’m lazy with my brushes, I’ll admit it. I do wash my face brushes monthly though. I also don’t wear makeup daily, probably only 2-3 times a week.
I wash my sponge BEFORE every use because that’s more convenient since I have to wet it in the sink anyways.

I definitely don’t wash my brushes with soap and water often. Maybe once a month. What I do is use a blue brush cleaner from either face secrets from Sally’s beauty supply or Cinema Secrets. They are great quick drying formulas to kill germs, clear color pigments off, and dosen’t damage the brush by conditioning it as well. I use regular soap and warm water for my blending sponges though. Sponge gets cleaned every time I use it or I buy packs and toss it when it gets icky.
