This beauty blender is very new – I used it maybe 10 times and only washed it 2-3 times. Sephora brand name and everything. When I go to do my makeup it leaves little “pills” of what I can only guess is pieces of sponge coming off … is this normal?

I suspect it might be the foundation itself pilling, especially if you started using a primer, or changed a product. If two products have silicon, there’ll be pilling.

You should try [this one](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013XJUWC0) from Amazon. It’s $4 and better than the original (according to all the reviews from people who have tried both.) I’ve been using it for just under a year and haven’t had any problems with pilling or anything else.
Best blender out there is shop miss A with her AOA paw paw blender. It’s like 1.50 and part of that goes to charity.
Normally you are supposed to clean your sponge after each use. It might be residues.
That is not normal.
But I really recommend you check out Beauty Bakerie’s Blending Eggs. They’re $18 for 6 of them, and IMO they’re way better than beauty blenders for texture, density, everything.
