No matter what products you use or how good you are at applying makeup, *ALL* makeup will show texture. Nothing will completely hide texture, it’s normal! Everyone has some kind of texture on their face whether that’s pores, fine lines/wrinkles, acne, milia, a mole, hair, etc etc.
With that said, certain products can minimize or accentuate texture. I also use the maybelline superstay and I notice if I have any dry patches it makes it look worse because it’s a matte foundation VS something more hydrating or natural finished. I’m also not a believer in primer, especially anything silicone. It makes things slip and slide and melt off my face, since I’m oily (but also dry-dehydrated skin).
Make sure you’re moisturizing good (day and night) and your skin isn’t dry. Also using a hyaluronic acid serum with your moisturizer can help “plump” up the skin and *may* help things be slightly more smooth.
But, generally nothing is going to take away that skin texture with makeup. And that’s okay, everyone has some kind of texture! If you’re comparing your skin to influencers you see on Instagram or YouTube, please STOP!!! Lighting alone plays a huge roll but they could also be using filters. AND if they’re honest they’d tel you something looks really good on camera but it person it looks shit and accentuates texture. (Robert welsh and Wayne Goss are very honest with that)
the pictures above (kinda disgusting, sorry) display how foundation appears on me. it’s apparent in areas of high lighting, but not as much under low lighting. i don’t want it to accentuate my flaws, i want it to cover. but it’s not working.
the foundation i use is maybelline superstay. before i apply it, i put elf pore filling primer on my face. then i apply thin layers of superstay. finally, i use elf hydrating concealer to hide my eye bags.
i also have a skin condition where there’s dark spots, they kinda look like craters in my face. i wanna cover those up but i’m not sure how. advice, please???
Hydrate the skin well, and use a little less product , build thin layers in areas you need morr coverage and finally use a spray like Mac Fix+ to take away the cakiness at the end
