Happy New Year QUEENS !!!! HELP ME!!!! I am super confused. When I go to Sephora. And use the testers of some products because they are ridiculously glittery !!! And I’m so happy because that’s what I want !! And when I get it home, it’s completely different !!! I recently purchased the Stoned Urban Decay Palette because I was stunned and so excited by the samples I made in store and it sucks! No glitter at all! Also. I need a super glittery highlighter! I sample naked urban decay and it was amazing. Again. When I got home AM was boring and straightforward. PLEASE!!! Help or recommend super real glitter eye shadows and highlighters. Ps I remember this from pharmacies growing up too …. so the ‘sample’ products must be different, right? Although with MAC I never had any problems. HAPPY NEW YEAR from Victoria BC Canada !! โค๏ธ๐๐ผ๐๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ผโ๐ค

We tend to apply more pressure when we do swatches on our hands/arms. Make sure you’re using a decent eye primer too ๐ [super glitter duo chrome pallete ](https://www.revolutionbeauty.com/uk/en/makeup/eyeshadow-palettes/revolution-x-alexis-stone-the-transformation-palette/1108843.html)
I just used Revlon eye art to highlight my inner eyes . Very pretty but itโs super tacky . Lol Iโm so limited with money rn so I tiredlessy use the same palettes but colourpop has some nice glitter highlighter. The one I use all the time is mint to be . Unless you mean literal glitter not shimmer
Just trying to help
The first and most annoying difference between Sephora and other makeup stores/counters is that the lightbulbs are specifically designed to show off the products, especially glitters and shimmers. It is frustrating to the nth degree.
In order to solve that issue, try to go near the door of the store or a window to see it in a more usual light (not very often the case for the same reason).
The second difference, in case of powders especially, is that the amount of makeup you swatch on your hand is definitely not the same as the amount you will actually put on your face (well you might but I doubts you have a condensed line of highlighter on your cheeks ๐). Also ร finger application is very different than a brush application.
To compensate this, when swatching products, try to go lighter with your fingers and blend it. Alternatively don’t hesitate to ask one of the store employee for a brush. Just make sure they don’t try to apply it to your face because that is gross as hell.
Lastly, some brands specialise in misleading the clients by taking into account the first two points, UD being masters at that. The quality of their products sucks but you only realise it when you get home. If you are in the US you are lucky to be allowed to return them. In here (Belgium) you just need to lick your wounds and swear not to buy them again. Took me quite a few products before I managed that.
I think sometimes the testers are older and the powder becomes less packed from being moved around and touched frequently. Maybe the top layer of your new glitter is pressed too firmly in the pan
I always get better results when I use a glitter primer. My favorite is the one from NYX!
Edit: I have the colourpop super shock highlighter in seismic and it is very glittery and pretty.
I have the Stoned palette and find it to be very glittery. How are you applying it? Some of the glitters need to be applied by finger tip or if you have one of those flat applicators (I bought a bag of them at Ulta for super cheap)
I use a glitter primer and apply either with a flat concealer brush or my fingers if the brush doesn’t work. But the glitter primer will always be a must
