Hello, I recently purchased the EL Double Wear foundation. But I definitely got a shade that was way too cool and clear for me – it looks so gray and ashy to me. I saw that a simple solution would be to add turmeric, but does anyone here have any first hand experience? Does it stain / irritate your skin? How to avoid it being grainy? Pls this foundation was so expensive i want to make it work Thank you very much!
That’s a pricey foundation, and if you don’t want to ruin an expensive product like that, don’t mix it with the turmeric. There are places that sell mixing mediums for your foundations for this exact situation. Try Kim Chi beauty; they’ve got these “concealers” in squeeze tubes that are bright red, bright blue, plain white etc. These are what you’re looking for; not turmeric, which as you yourself said, can be gritty and stain or irritate your skin.
Or better yet??? Return it!! Get your money back and buy it in a shade that actually looks good on you. I tried to fix different foundations for years since it’s difficult for me to find a good shade, but what worked best for me in the end was just taking a whole day of my life to shade match foundations and get my perfect foundations.

I would test patch. Turmeric is known to stain the skin yellow
Just mix a little on the back of your hand and apply on your inner arm so you can see if it’ll stain and to check the texture
