I know this might be a silly question, but I like to stick to a schedule or a structure of things: moisturizer, primer, foundation, then whatever else by the way. after. But sometimes I don’t have time to put on foundation because I’m late for class and my skin is quite oily so I feel like it’s too late to apply a primer and a foundation. On the days that I’m not going out – that is, most of the last year – the only thing I would like to put on is a highlighter because it’s fun, but when I don’t have the time to put on a primer and foundation, I don’t. I’m not sure if it’s okay to skip these steps and go straight to applying the highlighter. The highlighter I would like to use is RMS Beauty Living Luminizer. Is it okay to apply a highlighter like this or any other type on a bare face without a primer or foundation?
You can apply highlighter to bare skin. I use the RMS, it’s my favorite, and regularly it’s all I have on.
You don’t need to stick to any one way of applying makeup. Everything in makeup is designed to work well on its own as well as to compliment another product, so there’s no true order to applying things. Play around, find what makes you happy and comfortable and most importantly have fun!

Definitely! No rules to cosmetics ever. But i would say on a balancing aspect if you are applying highlighter without any foundation id recommend something cream or liquid based and lightly tapped in moderation so it looks like a glow from within!
Since your skin is oily, I recommend looking into a mattifier to put on places you don’t want to be shiny! When my skin is oily I used the murad oil control mattifier.
I’d put it on over your moisturizer or in place of in specific areas and then highlight to give extra glow to places you do want to 🙂
Primer + Highlight is a great quick combo to try. I use shiny primers too, like Dr. Brandt’s illuminizing primer or NYX’s Bare With Me Cannabis primer.
