These days, if I want an intro, I’ll usually use Laura Mercier’s (it was on sale at Costco for, say, four bucks. I try so hard not to buy saves, but there will be some. always be more primers). However, I have a tube full of Maybelline Instant Pore Eraser which I absolutely love but never use. I tend to spot all over my face with Maybelline Instant Age Rewind, which doesn’t seem to like the silicone texture of the primer. I usually need at least a bit of coverage so wearing it alone doesn’t really work for me. Are there silicone-based correctors? Is it a thing?
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind is actually silicone-based. Any time you see a -cone / -xane / -cane ingredient within the first couple of ingredients, it’s typically going to be silicone-based. Water is just there to keep the product’s liquid consistency. For water-based products, there will usually be no silicone type ingredients, or they will be much further down on the ingredient list.
Is it your application method maybe? How do you apply each product?
