Like when we switch from one color to another? Mine still looks like a severe color difference. What I do is: Use an eyeshadow primer Put on a base coat of neutral colored eyeshadow (I don’t even know if I’m supposed to) Then start with a color using a brush, switch to a different color with a different brush, then try mixing the two colors with a third brush. But it is as if the colors are “glued” and will not mix. I’m so new to this, I’m sorry. What am I doing wrong? How can I blend my eyeshadow colors more easily?
Your basic knowledge seems well. ( Eye primer, putting down a neutral shade first)
What brushes and eyeshadow do you use?
are you using a fluffy brush, it makes a huge difference. also some eyeshadows are patchy and donβt blend well. try also applying a base color that is close to your skin tone first.
Honestly, the right brush is game-changing.
I highly recommend the [zoeva blending brush](https://zoevacosmetics.eu/products/228-luxe-crease-brush-rose-golden-vol-2).
Once I got one, it was suddenly SO much easier to blend my colours.
Also as people mentioned, eyeshadow quality can sometimes be the issue. I find that some shadows stick to primer like glue and just go patchy.
I really like Colourpop shadows to work with.
Don’t deposit the pigment first and then blend – instead, start blending from the very moment your brush touches your lid, even with the first transition shade. I found that this has made a huge difference in my blending game. Get yourself a fluffy blending brush like Zoeva 228 or 227 and go in slowly, building up color as you go bit by bit, blending out without patting it into your lid at any point. You shouldn’t try to blend away the already existing line between two distinct shades patted into your lid – it won’t go away completely once you put it there in the first place. Instead, think of it as blending out individual washes of color, trying to make them blend into each other from the start. As you go darker with your shadow, go in with progressively smaller brushes, but ones that are rounded/domed rather than flat.
This method works best when you go from lightest to darkest – it doesn’t really have much application if you do it the other way round.
Try using a small bit of setting powder after the primer.
