I’m new to this and really only use the liquid foundation and concealer at the moment, but my dark circles are still visible. Should I look into cooking my face? In addition, my foundation and my corrector make me a little whiter? Should be a little brighter than my tanned face? Would contouring, tanning or baking my face make a big difference to the “natural” character of makeup and help to hide it better?
ok, long comment incoming lol
Personally, I wouldn’t recommend baking. It’s a stage technique that doesn’t translate well to everyday face-to-face interactions (not that we’ve been having much of those in 2020…but i digress) and tends to looks very dry and cakey IRL.
As for your foundation shade, i think it’s relatively common for people to have a winter shade and a summer shade to accommodate how your skintone changes throughout the year. If your current shade is just slightly too light, you can compensate for the color difference by adding bronzer and blush. I found that after i started using more cheek products like that, it really helped tie my makeup look together and avoid that “washed out” look you can get if you only wear foundation.
Finally, getting to your main question, if your under eye darkness is still showing through your concealer, then I would recommend using a color corrector. Something just slightly peachier or more orange than your skintone to cancel out the blue/purple color from under eye darkness. You only need a tiny bit, and ONLY blend it over where the darkness is. Then you can apply your concealer over it to match the color to the rest of your face. Sometimes if the color corrector is just right you can even get away with not applying any other steps on top.
Jordan Liberty used to have a good video on color correcting, but he has removed a lot of his older content so i’m not sure if it’s still up. Robert Welsh is another good source of information on youtube, and he had a lot of good tips to give in a recent video where he reacted to Kim Kardashians new color corrector launch.
edit: here is the [Youtube link](https://youtu.be/f6LUyHCjyAI) to Roberts video that i mentioned. he discusses his thoughts on baking, and his recommended method on concealer application, while also discussing why he disagrees with the methods that KKW is showing

Personally I just had to find the perfect concealer that covered them well! My holy rail ended up being Missha pure & weightless concealer, and it has enough coverage that sometimes I just wear it. Color correcting can help too, like a peach for under the eyes if you have fair skin or an orange tone for dark skin. LA Girl has some cheap concealers in color correcting shades if you want to try them out!
