As the title suggests, does anyone know where to find pastel eye shadows or generally well pigmented light pink undertones that are not ashy and work well on dark skin tones without the need for a primer or a white base? I feel like the more ‘cute’ color range like pinks and light yellows is often formulated for the lighter half of the shade range, and with my allergens I don’t really want to pack a lot of pigment – because I know it will come right away. The image, like colourpop without the ashes, and not too expensive (less than fifty pounds / sixty dollars). Plus, does anyone look at people doing cute, sort of kiddish looks (an example would be goldenbih’s fairy kei makeup look). Just very shimmering and playful, but wearable as an everyday look. There are a lot of people with fair skin who do this, but I can’t find a lot of people with dark skin who do the same.
Shroud cosmetics creepy cute is still the best pastel palette I’ve tried. But for a cheaper option that’s remarkably well performing, the Bh cosmetics Lost in Los Angeles is really great. Pastels always work better if you lay down a white base. Go in with a small brush for detail and blending work and then pack on with a finger to really pump up the color and finalize it. All pastels no matter the brand end up needing a little help like that.

Edit: I think Fenty also has a pastel snap palette but I haven’t seen reviews of it on darker skin
I’m dark skin and I’ve tried some good pastel shadows from colourpop! I can link the videos to both a pale yellow look and a light blue one if you want!
My biggest rec for pastels is to have a white base for them! Pastels are basically primary colors with a white base so no matter how good the quality is, if your dark skin peeks through the color too much it’ll dull it, even medium and light skin has this issue. See if you can find a white concealer or eyeshadow base to really help them pop.
That being said, the Huda mini color palettes are great and have a lot of pastels
I would check out midas cosmetics. They have a spring palette with pretty much every pastel you could need. Midas has amazing quality, they’re an Afro-Latina owned brand, and it’s super easy to find a 20% off code so you can save some cash.
I do recommend a using a pale base/primer though because it makes pastels pop in general.
I like the Huda Beauty Pastel Eyeshadow Palettes. I’m more of a light skin brown tone, but I have really dark eyelids and the colours really do show up, even without an eyeshadow base. They retail at £27 a palette. Her matte and melted eyeshadows also show up really well too. They’re also perfect to use as a base colour to build from. They retail at £22 per eyeshadow stick (they’re dual ended with a matte shade and a metallic). Huda Beauty’s Mercury Retrograde Palette is also a very good choice too. Really pretty pastel colours with a great colour pay off. Normally it’s £58 but I just saw it for £46 on feel unique.
I’ve seen a lot of black women try and use Colourpop’s Sailor Moon Eyeshadow Palette. They all seem to like it and think it does a good job to be fair. I also have the exact same palette too and I would say that it’s pretty good to be fair. Definitely an easier, user friendly palette to create more cutesy looks.
I would definitely recommend using an eyeshadow base though. Even for lighter skin tones, pastels are really difficult to build up and make look pigmented.
