MAC’s face and body have been my foundation for years! However, MAC is not cruelty-free and as a vegan I can’t stand them anymore. but I can’t find a replacement either everything is too dry and gets into my pores and fine lines (f26) I don’t have a lot of disposable income to try many different foundations, but I am willing to invest in a product from quality. I have dry skin and just need something light to even out the redness. I would also be open to a BB / CC cream but I don’t know where to start! Everyone has recommendations
Mac F&B is hard to replace IMO. Good medium/light coverage but looks like skin and no sunscreen so no flashback. Satin type finish not dewy or matte.
Idk if these are cruelty free:
but one option might be Makeup Revolution Ulta HD. A wide range of shades and ticks those boxes. You can sheer it out or build it up, wouldn’t say it goes quite to full coverage though.
BB cream type products I like are Ilia face tint which has mineral sunscreen and other good stuff in it. is light coverage and dewy but pretty for day time. Also bare minerals complexion rescue very much evens you out but looks like skin. This one blends better with other makeup. Ilia doesn’t always play as nicely with other products for me.
Avoid glossier skin tint. I own it and like it for what it is, but the coverage is very very minimal ultra dewy.
Like I usethis to mix into heavier foundations to lighten em up a bit and make glowy or on true no make up makeup days. For some reason they get compared to each other. Probably packaging. Very different products.
Ive never tried a Mac foundation but I have similar issues with foundation as you. I use fenty pro filter and its super moisturizing, covers my redness, and doesn’t settle into every line. you can go to Sephora and get a color match and take home a sample before buying.

I have used mac face and body’s white shade, as a mixer with the actual foundation shades, and currently I use Milk makeup’s foundation in porcelain (not cheap, but it looks great and not too matte if you don’t build it up, actually I prefer a very light layer via a beauty blender, so you still get a good look even if you don’t build it up) Clean beauty brand, and I have dry skin too… I do have to exfoliate/moisturize before using, but usually I forget and the Milk foundation isn’t even too drying to look awful on my skin!
Mufe waterblend is dead on I have both
