Mascara: Anastasia Beverly Hills – ‘Lash Brag’ Volumizing Mascara

Price: $25 (Ulta Beauty Website)

Shade: available in 1 shade – Jet Black

Fragrance: has a very light, barely noticeable fragrance

Type (Claim): dramatic, full-bodied lashes, intense jet-black color

Wand: hourglass brush shape, natural bristles

Style: 0.34 fl ounces, made in Italy, black & rose-gold ombre cylindrical tube packaging, luxury weight, ophthalmologist reviewed, dermatologist tested, clinically tested, cruelty-free, 6-month PAO on tube

Extra Information: water-resistant formula, flexible polymers to prevent clumping, conditioning agents to soften lashes, unique blend of supple waxes to give definition

Rules:

▪️left eye: curled lashes, lash primer

▪️right eye: uncurled lashes, no lash primer

▪️applied to top & lower lashes, no eyeliner/eyeshadow to affect wear, only 2 coats, no reapplication or touch-ups

⭐ Initial Application: (1400) looks better without primer, very messy application (got on my upper lid lashline), nice volume, length, & curl. No clumping. Wand works good for lower lashes as well.

🕑 2-Hour Mark: (1600) still wearable; right eye = smudges on top lid, left eye = smudges on undereye, no flaking on either side

🕒 3-Hour Mark: (1700) still wearable; right eye = flaking on top lid, left eye = smudges on upper lid now, both sides’ lashes look the same as application.

🕔 5-Hour Mark: (1900) still wearable (on right eye); right eye = more flaking on top lid, left eye = significant smudging on undereye, both sides’ lashes look the same as application.

🕗 8-Hour Mark: (2200) unwearable; both eyes have severe flaking & smudging on top & below eyes

🧼 Micellar Water Test: very difficult to remove. Had to soak a cotton pad, & leave it on my eye to slightly melt the mascara. After lots of rubbing, I still couldn’t get all of it off. I have to go in with an oil cleanser for this one.

🤓 Final Thoughts:

▪️Flaking: a LOT of flaking

▪️Transfer: a LOT of smudging

▪️Packaging: cute & luxe-feeling

▪️Brush: love this effective brush

▪️Formula: dry, creamy formula, lengthening, nice volume, not clumpy

▪️Value: using the ‘average’ amount of mascara to be 0.27 fl oz, this particular tube has a $31.48 value due to its increased size.

▪️Results: I think, in this case, the ‘primer & curl’ weighed down the lashes, whereas the side with just the mascara looked lightweight & fluffy all day

▪️Lower Lashline: yes; brush worked well for lowers

▪️Recommend: no; but if you choose to get it – I recommend wearing for a maximum of 5 hours on uncurled, unprimed lashes.
