Hello! I scoured the interwebs looking for a nude lip that would be perfect for the workplace / everyday natural look. The problem is I have lip pigmentation (my upper lip is darker than my lower lip, and it’s almost like there’s a perpetual dark lip liner around my lips), and it looks like EVERY bare lip is marketed to lighter girls. If you need a visual, consider Kim Possible but if her lips looked ashy. I have a bit of a hard time finding shades that won’t wash off, and had to watch hundreds of YouTube videos to find a reliable shade. I’ve gotten to the point where I just roll my eyes whenever creators claim it’s “a universal shade that would look flattering on everyone” lol. Not if you are brown with yellow undertones and have pigmented lips, it won’t! For reference, I have the conversation stand on the Charlotte Tilbury pillow and it legitimately blends in with my natural lip color. The only reason I know I put something on is when I take it off and find something on the wipe. It’s not a bad color for me, but does anyone have any recs of nudes that don’t perfectly match my lip color itself? Any MLBB shades or browns would probably be where I would start. I love moisturizing formulas and I can do that with a Pat McGrath level mat, but not much more than that. Thank you in advance 🙂
I’m a brown girl with yellow undertones and pigmented lips as well and my absolute favourite MLBB lip shades are
– NYX Soft Matte Creme in the shade Berlin. It’s pretty brown so it doesnt match exactly which I prefer as well. Los Angeles is a pretty good shade as well but it is a touch paler than Berlin so YMMV
– LimeCrime Plushies in Butterscotch is super cute as well and the formula is amazing
– KVD Beauty Studded Lipstick in the OG Lolita would be my third runner up for MLBB lips

I’m brown with the same lip pigmentation and my fave nude is Touch by MAC. I also love Shawty by Fenty Beauty dabbed on lightly for every day wear.
I know it’s an extra step but have you tried using lip liner? I was against it for ages because I associated it with that really harsh 90s outlining technique and also thought ‘I essentially have natural lip liner anyway so why bother’ – but actually it really ties in my lip products! I can make nudes that pulled super cool toned on me/looked stark against my lip pigmentation work with either the tiniest bit of Crucifix by KVD blended out with a lip brush, or Conspiracy lip liner by Urban Decay. A brown shade, to put that natural depth back in.
