I ask for all of your collective wisdom to send me in a direction that will help me ride my makeup game! As stated in the title: your daughter is pale af. I am generally the lightest in all foundation shades and have a cool undertone. My incredibly even skin tone, however. I have the most basic skincare routine, and it serves me very well (no breakouts, properly hydrated with no flaking, very little fading, and no scarring). For this reason, I tend to stick with tinted moisturizers, because honestly, I just don’t have much to cover, for real. And I’m looking for the “no makeup look” because I’m color blind and really scared to achieve bright colors without absolutely spoiling it and looking like a clown. Tinted moisturizers are easy to grab because there isn’t a lot of room to mess up the shade as well. Usually I take Milk Makeup’s Sunshine Skin Tint shade and hide with Glossier’s stretch concealer (I don’t have a lot of bags under my eyes and really don’t need them either) and eye shadow palettes. eyeshadow base with labels. – almost a nudes & browns as an MUA once told me they brought out blue eyes (which I have). HOWEVER: I am so pale, so translucent, that you can see the blue veins in my FACE. I have them around my eyebrows, my temple running down the side of my face, and my chin and jaw running down my neck. And MAN are they BLUE. I feel like I don’t care if I could get a tan – but all my life I’ve never been able to do that. So I walk around this world looking like a Victorian TB patient. Since it’s not really a 21st century vibe, I’m trying to figure out what to do about those veins. Do you guys have any ideas ??? I’m pretty inexperienced with makeup, so I welcome ALL advice.
If it’s only one or two prominent veins then you can just put concealer over those ones, but if it’s your whole face then you just need a fuller coverage foundation. There are plenty available even at the very pale end of the spectrum (especially if you haven’t shopped for foundation in the last 5-6 years, a lot of people who used to be “just give me the lightest shade” now actually have lots of options to choose from), or you can buy pure white lightener to adjust.
Let me preface by saying your post made me laugh out loud.
I’m not quite as translucent as you, but I’ve definitely suffered from being Pasty As Fuck myself, and with some intensely purple under eyes. I’d suggest looking into some color correcting – a pale peach or maybe even yellow could help with the blue veins. Color correcting can be pretty hard though, so I’ve found using a slightly warmer toned concealer under my cooler tinted moisturizer / foundation helps with my under eyes.
Hope you find something that helps!
