I bought this palette a little over a week ago and thought I’d get a review out before the Sephora sale ends, in case anyone needed more information on this palette to help make a decision. This is my first experience with the PMG brand; it’s my most expensive palette to date, even after the sale discount. I used this palette for a week before writing this review.
After trying this palette, I can see why PMG’s shimmers have received so much acclaim; they’re very textured in a good way, creating a sparkly wet look that’s unique to my collection. They also blend into each other easily enough, and I didn’t find that I had to apply many of the shimmers wet to achieve good payoff. Some of the shadows have a flakier consistency and don’t lend themselves well to dry brush application though; I found this to be the case with Odyssey, Lunar Champagne, and Galactic Gold. They seemed more like toppers than standalone shadows, and needed a finger or wet brush to stay in place during application.
While I was generally impressed by the shimmers, I found the mattes disappointing and not easy to blend. They are not the worst mattes I have ever used, but compared to mattes at a similar price point like Natasha Denona’s, they are surprisingly challenging to work with. Whether packed on or blended with a fluffy brush, they often did not diffuse out nicely or grant a smooth, even application; this is most evident in my third look, where I used the darkest matte in the palette, Venomous Void. I distinctly remember that it was very effortful to blend and it had taken me a long time to achieve a diffused edge, and even then the result is unsatisfactory, creating a strangely textured blend.
Overall, I think that this palette was a good way for me to try the PMG brand due to the range of colours and the less forbidding price point, although I would still be hesitant to try a regularly priced palette from the brand due to not enjoying the matte formula – unless Pat McGrath were to release a palette with only special shades and duo/multichromes, that is, but I’m sure the price would be staggering. I would recommend this palette for people who enjoy unique and eye-catching shimmers and also don’t mind bringing in mattes from other palettes to complement the shimmers.

Yeah, you definitely don’t buy PMG for her mattes. You buy it for her shimmers/metallics. Beautiful eye looks!

I definitely love their lip gloss! I got a pink glitter shade (pale fire nectar) and it is just so pretty and ugh. I want like every single shade
