So I’m dying to get a nice crinkled look, but I feel like I’ve tried about 5 different methods and it never, ever looks as sharp as the pictures. So if someone could break it down for me – what tools exactly do you use to achieve this look? What type of brushes, concealer, eye shadow? Would liquid or cream eyeshadow be better than powder? Many tutorial videos I’ve seen use a concealer to set the initial shape, but when I do this it never seems to stay set no matter how hard I try. One thing I’m going to do is buy a white concealer or a white cream color for the eyes – I’m so pale it seems like using a concealer for a cut crease is never clear / shiny enough for me. But any further advice would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve tossed the concealer and started using the Nyx Glitter Primer instead. It’s so easy to cheese a cut crease with that, and it intensifies the shimmer/metallic you use too.

Try using something other than a concealer since those usually contains some type of moisture meant for hydrating the skin – I know Revolution makeup has a ’cut crease canvas’ product and that Sigma has a cut crease brush, though I haven’t tried any of these myself (yet)
What helped for me a lot was going in with and angled brush and a bit of a darker shade or the darkest shade you use in the crease and go right around the edge to clean it up (i use concealer and a shimmer shade on the lid normally, to make the cut crease i take a angled brush too and shimmer with finger and near the crease with a small round top brush)

Practice, practice practice. Honestly, I made the mistake for years of deciding to attempt cut creases on special occasions and it coming out crap. I finally started ‘practicing’ by which I mean I did them whenever I put in makeup. Sometimes it came out well, sometimes it didn’t but over time, my skills definitely improved.
