Please help me improve !! I gave up makeup because when I apply it I feel like I look worse. I used to really love doing makeup, but now I feel like everything looks right. It’s my “everyday” makeup, but recently I stopped wearing it altogether. Any advice would be great x
I personally think you’re spot on with the colors you chose. Combined with your hair color, it gives a really pretty monochromatic overall look.
If you’re wanting to step outside the box to get yourself re-inspired, I think some true greens would look really amazing on you!
It never hurts to take a little break from makeup to get used to your face, but I also think your makeup looks really good overall. The only thing I would change is to try experimenting with some less defined brows, and going for something a bit more natural. In my experience, the super sharp brows look great in photos, but can look a little off in daily life. It’s just a matter of preference though, so do what you like. I think your eye and face makeup is really great.

Hi! I think your technique and application are really really good. I second the idea of trying different colors you would normally avoid.
Other than that, the only thing I would try would be to follow the natural lipline on the upper lip rather than the string Cupid’s bow. I can see where it’s overdrawn and I, personally, don’t like that look. But of you DO then keep it!
It’s your makeup and it needs to make you happy.
Honestly I don’t have any suggestions, I just wanted to say that you look really beautiful and I think your makeup is pretty well spot-on. I know how easy it is to be critical of every minor flaw, but please don’t be too hard on yourself!

It looks great! If you want a suggestion, try playing with cool tone browns like coconut pallets from colorpop would accent beautifully with your skin tone!
I have only done my eye makeup one time since March, and I felt like I looked worse when I did it! I’ve gotten so used to my bare face that now I prefer it. Don’t know if you’ve been wearing less makeup too but maybe that’s why
What is it that you don’t like?
Is it the way certain facial features look? Do you feel like you’re being washed out? Do you feel like it’s too much makeup? Underdone?

I love how you did everything, but is just my personal take: go just a tad easier on the eyebrows. That’s all I would say.
I went through a similar thing where I stopped wearing makeup for a long time. When I tried wearing it again, something looked off and I couldn’t put my finger on it.
Honestly, I think it was just because I wasn’t used to seeing myself with it on. I don’t see anything wrong with your makeup, so I wonder if it’s a similar thing
I think, if u wanna keep using makeup but feel like this look isnt your thing, go back to basics if u want, like just mascara, maybe eyeliner, and brows. After a while just add one thing at a time and decide if you rly like that one thing, for eyeliner for example. If you dont, try a different one. Kinda like, slowly building it up to what you like

I love your brows! When I’m feeling uninspired, I like to make mood boards on Pinterest and try new things on my days off. Maybe try that and see if you can just have fun with makeup again. You okay?

What helped me was looking at pictures of my favourite colours and eye looks, watched some tutorials on Youtube, and then followed, experimented, took some pictures, etc.. Just sat in my flat on my own. Tried to enjoy it. You’re doing amazingly already! xx
I honestly think this is a great everyday look, it doesn’t look beginner-ish at all! I think you could apply a little more blush if you wanted to, and I think you could pull off the blush-across-the-nose look really nicely. And maybe experiment with a slightly softer/more natural look with your brows, try using an even lighter hand towards the bridge of your nose. Looks lovely though 🙂
There are some days when my natural skin and self look better than the makeup days, so I try to gage that before I attempt to apply. Consider that as one of your ailments in this situation. Embrace the no makeup days, and enhance yourself in the days when you need that extra OmPH!

I’d also recommend getting a blending eyeshadow brush. And do you use concealer or eyeshadow primer for your eyes? Concealer can cause patchiness and creasing, the former of which I’m seeing a bit. Elf has a great eye primer (the tube and the putty are both fantastic)
I think you look fab! But I know that feeling when you just don’t like your face with makeup on… when I feel like that I usually take it back to just mascara, occasionally brows and a bold lip if I’m feeling sassy.
Another commenter suggested green eyeshadow & I second that – mossy, foresty greens, maybe with a hint of gold or bronze, would look fantastic on you!
Maybe a medium brown shade just a little in the crease of your inner corner of your lid to help define your eyes. I love everything about this look 😍

To make the green in your eyes pop you can use orangey tones or even browns leaning towards orange.

Sometimes I just do one or two things at a time when this happens. Like just lips and mascara, or just concealer and brows. It can help re-orientate how I view my face, and how I am doing my makeup, and give me a break on how I am judging the makeup. If I try to do too many complex looks in a row and don’t feel I am executing them well, I can get discouraged even though my basics (brows, mascara, under eye concealer, blush/highlighter, chapstick) can look nice and put together.
Your makeup application looks a hell of a lot better than many I’ve seen; that doesn’t necessarily mean the people who post in this subreddit are bad, let’s not get it twisted and people freak out. 😂 Maybe blending more would give you more of the look you want? But overall your application looks good.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments I really wasn’t expecting this !!! I am going to try a more natural brow next time, I agree that they look too harsh against everything else and will instead try a lighter hand/lighter shadow. You have all made me feel a lil bit better about my makeup. I think I just need to understand that this is my face and it has obviously changed since I was last into makeup (about 2018 lol so my face has obviously changed in those 2 years) so makeup is gonna look different too.
