So I recently found out that I might be suffering from an autoimmune disease. I am using NYX but the color is off and it seems to irritate my already extremely sensitive skin. The color is also off, as always. I am extremely pale and neutral and everything seems to be turning yellow and too dark on me. Due to my autoimmune disease causing photosensitivity it would be best to have something with an spf and I need makeup that is not matte as it makes my skin look powdery and dry. I don’t know where to look elsewhere and hope someone can give me a suggestion. I basically need a very pale, almost white foundation that glows in sun foundation which isn’t matte, has SPF and hopefully gentle on sensitive skin. Oh, and I only use cruelty-free. What can I say, I’m complicated Halp? TIA

Hi there! I’m sorry about your possible autoimmune disorder. That’s got to be super stressful and scary, especially in these pandemic circumstances. I’m wishing the best for you. <3
About your foundation question, I’ve never used this one but I’ve heard great things about the Colourpop Pretty Fresh Hydrating Foundation. It’s cruelty free and has a pretty impressive shade range, and a lot of very pale shades in different undertones. And I’ve read that it’s moisturizing, looks natural, and doesn’t irritate sensitive skin. The only problem is that it doesn’t have SPF. But maybe you could layer it with an SPF moisturizer?
Just wanted to say that you really need to continue using regular sunblock, no matter whether your foundation has SPF in it. Using an SPF with foundation will NOT let you skip a step, as you mentioned in a comment elsewhere. You will not get enough coverage with just foundation – in order to get the right SPF protection you’d have to apply so much foundation you’d look like a clown. Sorry π
I just posted a few minutes ago with a picture of my own tinted moisturizer test. I’m not sure whether we have similar skin tones, based on your post we might. If that’s the case, other foundations that I have tried and liked when I wanted more coverage are Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in 3.75 and Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation in P30. You might be a lighter tone than me, and both of those foundations offer lighter shades than those, with neutral or pink undertones. I’d start with the Cover FX if I were you, I’m a big fan of it and they come in a ton of shades. It’s on sale at Sephora right now because Sephora will no longer be carrying it, but you can just order it directly from their website.
