I have a prom coming up and I want a foundation that fully covers, but no cake. My skin is combination. It’s also the only brand that sells my shade, but I don’t want to shell out nearly $ 40 on a foundation that isn’t worth it. thank you in advance

I love this foundation for both myself and my clients (I’m a makeup artist) The only skin type it doesn’t work so well on is very dry in which case I mix with a little face oil and it’s perfect.
I don’t understand the comment about it not photographing well, I have used it for many photo shoots and it looks perfect. But everybody is different, this is my experience with it.

My daughter has really oily skin and she loves the original lock-it foundation. I have Sahara desert dry skin and tried the one in the skinny white bottle, and it was incredibly patchy on me. I do want to try their balm one, once it restock.

I used to be a make up artist so take this with a grain of salt. But that foundation doesn’t photograph very well it can be especially drying and come off a tad cakey. They do have a nice light shade range they have a new balm foundation I have not been able to see in person. If you want a full coverage look sometimes when we didn’t have a perfect match we used lightening drops in white if you have the right undertone or we used a bit more concealer and cream blush and contoured. It looks better in both person and non edited photos. I did know a gal that loved the kvd lock it after she tried it mixed with a few drops of beauty oil. We all got it full sized for free to try… not a single one of us was happy with how it looked in real life or when we put it on clients as is. What we did most often was either or nars mt blanc (with a few whitening drops) my favorite thing to do was actually use two foundations and reverse contour. You just have to make sure the foundations will play nice together.
