Today, I wanted to gather up a few things that are in my beauty collection, yet I find myself not using.
I like to randomly pick-through my collection every-other-month or so, & just do a ‘quick refresh’ to keep everything organized.
Just because I’m decluttering these products from my collection doesn’t necessarily mean they are awful products. Please read the description next to each product to find out why I’m decluttering it.

✏ DECLUTTER:
▪️ITEM #1 – Beauty Diva London ‘Diva Eye Brush Set’
Why: I tried sooo hard to love these brushes, but I just don’t. Even putting them in ‘my favorite’ brush cup, I found I wasn’t reaching for them. To me, they feel uncomfortable in the hand, they are too chunky, & the bristles are too thick for precision application. I’m sure somebody else will love them a lot more than I do.

Why: I’m sure you know by now of my toothpaste obsession. I always keep 4 or 5 in rotation, so I never get bored brushing my teeth. I love the brand ‘Jāsön’ for natural hygiene products. I used half of this toothpaste tube, & I gave it a solid shot. The flavor was amazing – great breath-freshening power! However, it really doesn’t do much in terms of teeth whitening. I prefer a much more powerful whitening agent than what’s inside this formula. It’s not a bad toothpaste, just not really something I prefer.
Why: This brand is so adorable, & I really get inspired by their products! I just found that over time, I was not using this lip gloss because you don’t get enough product on the wand. I think the tube’s ‘wand-wiping’ mechanism is a little too strong, & wipes off a TON of product, so when I use this, I have to redip about 8 times for a single application. Pretty gloss, but too much effort.

▪️ITEM #4 – Sunday Riley ‘Luna’ Sleeping Night Oil
Why: I use a facial oil two times per week as the final step in my skincare routine. I LOVE this oil. This is actually my second bottle of it. Sadly, I think I bought an expired one, because I just got this recently – maybe 3 or 4 months ago? Anyway, I went to apply it the other night, & the oil went completely RANCID. I mean, totally & utterly soured. It has the most putrid smell I’ve smelled in awhile, & I simply am decluttering this because I CANNOT put this oil on my face. I really want to get another one.

▪️ITEM #5 – L.A. Colors Bronzer (bronzed beauty)
Why: In my opinion, there is an EXTREME difference between ‘shimmery’ & ‘Metallic’. Sure, I love a good ol’ shimmery bronzer every now-and-then to change things up. L.A. Colors powder products also really are underrated. However, THIS bronzer is pure metallic. There is no way in hell that I can pull this bronzer off on my skin. No way. I’ve tried it multiple times, & had a bad-makeup-day each time I’ve used it. Perhaps a deep skintone will get lots of use & purpose out of this bronzer, but I’m just going to pass it along.

▪️ITEM #6 – Phase Zero Blusher (cotton candy)
Why: The only reason I’m decluttering this is because it’s too light for me. I love the formula so much, but each time I apply it, I can’t see it! I prefer blushes that have a darker color to them, so they are more visible. Other than that, this is a really cute compact housing a lovely formula (if you can pull off the color!)

Hey hey! Just a quick note from a dental professional here- I see lots of patients who switch to a natural toothpaste that is fluoride-free (like the one above) have no idea how much higher their risk is for getting cavities. The best alternative to fluoride is xylitol, but fluoride is still the most proven, preferred and safe effective option, and I would counsel anyone against switching. If your toothpaste has no fluoride, or at the very least xylitol, your are defs putting your teeth at risk.
Also, folks with dental sensitivity can find this is exacerbated by a “whitening” toothpaste, as it works by abrading away the outer layer of your stained enamel. Whitening products are best done as a whitening tray that adapts the bleach to your teeth. A whitening toothpaste is better replaced by a professional polish twice per year when you get your cleaning (then fluoride is applied right after ☺️). Whitening should be done after a dental cleaning + polish for best results.
If you want to splash out on a fancy dental product, try a high Fluoride Toothpaste like Colgate Prevident 5000, get a tongue scraper(!!!) or invest in a waterpik water flosser. Your future self will thank you!
