I have been using Covergirl LashBlast (orange tube) for years now and have always loved it. In my forties, I switched from makeup almost everyday to almost never. In August or September I put on my mascara and at the end of the day I noticed a stye forming. I thought it was my fault because the tube was probably about 4 months old and I threw it away. I waited about 2 weeks for the stye to heal, then tried a new tube. Same problem. I have now gone through 3-4 brand new tubes, all of which resulted in styes on the same eyelid. They are quite minor and seem to go away within 2-3 days. But obviously I don’t want them to keep happening again. I throw away the tubes after the styes appear, to avoid further contamination. When I wash my face after a day of makeup, I use a makeup remover wipe to get rid of most of my mascara, then I use my regular face wash. So I think it washes out thoroughly? I have always had sensitive skin, and especially in high school, most makeup products irritated my skin. However, this mascara was one of the few that didn’t (at least until recently). I’m lost so if anyone has any ideas or ideas I would appreciate it!

The same thing happened to me as well! I am not completely sure, but I guess the bacteria just builds in the mascara (even when itβs not being used for months at a time) and youβre supposed to throw out the mascara every 3 months from the date it was first opened. I replace my mascara every 3 months, regardless of how much has been used, and I stopped getting styes! π
