Have you ever bought a certain product and knew you were going to love it – but weren’t sure how much you were going to love it? So, is it becoming your favorite product to turn to? Like, recently I ventured from luxury / high end to more affordable brands (I always thought that being good at makeup meant giving up a dime – it turned out that I was wrong). Honestly, I just realized this morning that Colourpop’s Stone Cold Fox palette is something I’ve been looking for * daily * since I bought it in November – instead of my Dior / Charlotte Tilbury quads, or palettes. Urban Decay. Looking at it before purchasing I thought the colors were nice, and having a cool tone palette would probably be a good idea considering I’m a cool tone like you can get and mostly owned tones neutral and warm – – but I don’t think I realized how much I would absolutely fall in love with this product. For example, I think I’ll be salty if I hit the pan and can’t replace it (Colourpop isn’t always compatible with the stock, I find). What do you think? What are your surprise products? ** Edit: It doesn’t have to be a pharmacy, only. Any product that you have used that surprised you, and you ended up liking it a lot more than you thought!
ELF’s 18 pan palettes (The New Classics, 18 Hit Wonders) are incredible. Blendable and buildable colours. I bought the first on a whim and immediately fell in love. Well worth $14.
Honestly the little Elf eyeshadow duos and trios.
They’re like 4 bucks? And they really deliver for me.
I got the mint melt ones and they’re really cute and work well for how I do my eyeshadow.
Similar to you, I picked up ColourPop’s That’s Taupe palette and discovered it to be a really good day-to-day choice. My standard look uses the mattes from that palette, and Stila’s Kitten patted on the lid to brighten.
Hi, by workhouse do you mean drugstore specifically or really something you discover and it unexpectedly becomes a favorite?
Pixi Multibalm stick in Baby Petal. I impulse bought it on sale at Target over a year ago. It’s on perma-sale on Pixi’s website for $6. It’s the perfect basic cream blush. It last really well, middle of the road finish, good daily color for me. I’ve tried more expensive cream blush sticks and keep coming back to this one, it just does what I need it to do and is easy to throw on.
