I’m posting this after taking a peek in the mirror and noticing that all of my eyeshadow has disappeared into another dimension and my winged liner sports a sparkly sheen that I didn’t put there this morning. I used to use MAC Paint Pot as my eyeshadow base yeaaaaars ago and ended up trying other options when more competitors entered the market just to see how they performed. For reference, my favorite MAC PP shades are / were Bare Study, Painterly, and Soft Ocher – for that latest “revival” I bought Bare Study, because contrary to most people’s opinion, I really liked Sin by UD, and it was the closest thing (and not priced at $ 32 + CAD). So … I’m disappointed. I love the texture of the paint bucket and the initial application is great. But it’s been a long time since my shadow folded and I completely disappeared into oblivion. My eyelids are not oily and I really don’t understand why this is happening. The staying power just isn’t there. So … is it back to UD even if you don’t like it? TooFaced Shadow Insurance is the same price as UD, but is * that * worth it? I know this has been asked a few times before, but what are some of your tried and true, tried and true eyeshadow primers? Next … TLDR: Need some suggestions for a new eyeshadow base because MAC Paint Pot unfortunately let me down …
