We’ve all had times when we buy something, take it home, only to find it won’t work. I did this when I was trying on makeup in high school. Boy i watch some of the stuff i put on my face and i go yikes! Live and learn. Some of those oops moments were trending honestly. Some you look back and just have to CRINGE because they’re so bad. Anyone had a great story to tell about a makeup accident?
Iām not gonna even mention my brows in high school bc they were bad. In my early college days, I used to wear this dark brown shimmer on my eyes and it just looked so grey on me. I think it was from one of those 35 pan morphe palettes. I wore it in a lot of sorority pictures and every time I look back on those pictures I just see that ugly brown shimmer. I also never properly blended my eyeshadow and it just looked so blah on me.
Eventually I just stopped using eyeshadow and only did winged eyeliner for like 2 years. Now Iām back to loving eyeshadow.
All my first foundations because I used a shade that was too dark for me and one of them oxidised so I looked like a carrot…
Thank god, I have found brands that actually carry my shade now

My first foundations were oxidizing, I didn’t blend blue eyeshadow that i wore up to myeyebrows, and I had giant sperm brows in a grey color wax
So back in 8th grade all the girls were wearing this brown lipstick. It was 1996/7 and brown was the hot lip color. All of them were wearing what basically was poo poo brown. Nobody told any of us it was poo brown but it really was. I decided if all the other girls wore it so could I. No. No I could not. My pale, pink undertone red headed self cannot and will not ever pull off poo brown lipstick. It was not a cute look especially paired with thin eyebrows that were way over plucked. Or the Dreamwhip foundation that oxidized into varied shades of orange like bad self tan by noon. It was tragically bad.
Oof I remember like, late high school was when I started wearing makeup. First of all, I did put makeup everywhere EXCEPT my neck and brows, which is an oof enough as it is. Second, I learned how to put on makeup from the stage makeup other people did for me for musicals, so everything was too much, particularly my foundation, which was definitely too dark for my skin tone (because stage lighting). But I thought I was the most litty bitty in the city because I was an ~.*art student*.~ and therefore brush skills were ‘on point’ (they weren’t).
It wasn’t until the end of my high school days when I saw a photo of me at the schools annual art show looking like I was wearing a shocked oompa loompa mask that I realized maybe I should change my routine .-. I’m proud to say she’s grown, though, even though it took me another 4 years to figure out what my undertone actually was and to find a foundation that was actually my colour (Thank you RiRi!)
