How did you get started in makeup? Truly? Ok so I know the question might sound silly because it’s basic. The answer is simply to do it. But to explain my situation I’m a senior HS, graduation is approaching and I don’t want to look like a bum except I don’t really want to pay tons of money for an MUA which can be a fluke and I want to usually do my makeup. I have a friend who found a girl on Instagram who she thinks is basically my doppelganger (all my family and friends agree with me) except for various self-esteem issues I am inclined to not not believe it because the girl is beautiful and I want my nose and my forehead are bigger. So basically I’m trying to emulate this girl’s makeup and hair for graduation except I really have no idea where to start. Since I don’t even know how to get a match (because my neck is darker than my face but my face matches my chest) and makeup stores during Covid are limited in terms of customer interactions etc. , I don’t know how to apply eyelashes, and I don’t know how to look at someone’s makeup and be like, this is how I recreate it or even gauge what kind of products they used. So really, how do I do my makeup? I’m going to attach a pic of the insta girl and the makeup I’m trying to recreate and could someone maybe tell me what colors or products they think they used or like the techniques for. This is [her](https://imgur.com/a/PPSlq15) I think what you’re going to notice is that her makeup is generally the same style, which means I’m not specifically trying to recreate just a certain look that she had. I would love and appreciate any comments because I really try to shine

I youtube extensively. This sub us very helpful in that each picture has a comment by OP with a product list. I can then search the product specifically or even the brand on youtube and watch someone apply it. Usually several people in several colors. So find a picture that shows a look or a component of the look you want, and go from the product list. That has been my strategy so far. And practice the week before your event so you gave time to practice or buy additional products in the meantime.
