Does anyone know of a primer similar to Becca First Light? I have rosacea and extremely dry skin and after years and hundreds of dollars this has become my holy grail. I just read yesterday that they were shutting down Becca, so I thought I should start finding a replacement now. I am using Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation so I need something that plays well with that too. I still have patches of dryness / peeling and feel like the first light never helped my huge pores so I would like something that could help too. Thank you in advance for your suggestions / advice😊.
That’s one of my favorite primers too. I like hydrating luminescent primers. I’m dry and have ezcema.
First Aid Beauty has a coconut primer that is really similar. It’s got a luminescent finish and it’s good for sensitive skin.
That’s the closest I can think of. But I also like Giorgio Armani luminous silk primer and the primer moisturizer from Smashbox.

VDL makes primers very similar to backlight and first light. The formula is glowy without being (or looking) greasy, if that makes sense. I also have some issues with pores and unfortunately those glowy/hydrating primers don’t do much for them (I care less about it now because I’ve been working from home since last March and my meetings are over Zoom so the camera smooths things out lol). What’s been helpful for me in the past is applying my preferred primer all over and then tapping a pore filling primer (like Elf or Tatcha) on my nose and parts of my cheeks to minimize the appearance of pores there. Hope you find your next holy grail!
I looove Bobby Brown’s face base! As someone who has very dry, sensitive skin it feels and looks amazing.
I am so thankful for this thread!! I literally just realized I’ll also be out my HG becca primer and after so many dry skin struggles to find a good primer this is earth shattering. I’m about to run out to boot!!
Thank you! I will have to give these a try. I’m planning on going into Sephora to get samples of as many as I can.
