I haven’t seen a lot of discussion about this, so I hope my questions will be clearly articulated as I find it difficult to express them. I’ve watched a lot of videos on choosing the correct tones for your skin tone, but none of them address what troubles me. Confusion arises when I incorporate warm eye shadows as they tend to look best on my blue eyes. I have cold skin / hair / eyes but all of my makeup is hot. Even the Mac counter gives me an NW shade (13) to counter the redness of my skin. However, I have been told all my life to avoid warm tones as they exaggerate my rosacea. Warm tones look best on my eyes, but they clash if I use cool tones on my face or lips. The cool tones are really horrible to me, especially the pastels. So here’s my question: Does the tone need to be consistent throughout a look? Today I wore a warm look with Blush Crush (Colourpop) on my eyes and Glacé (Bite lip pencil) on my lips. They worked well together but came up against the cool tones that naturally show through my cheeks. Would neutralizing the cold tones of my skin first work better, or would it be more unflattering? I can’t afford to replace my collection, so I’m trying to figure out how to best use what I have now. Any advice would be appreciated as I am clearly very confused. Thanks to anyone who took the time to read or who have clarification.
