I used to have noticeable hormonal acne and lots of splotchy redness. My makeup looked alright, but since I’ve treated those issues, I can definitely that say my makeup application is a lot smoother and more natural looking!
OH MY GOSH YESSSSSSS! I still prefer to wear foundation but I don’t have to. I can wear a tinted moisturizer and be just fine. Yesterday I wore Urban Decay’s HydroManiac Tinted Glow Hydrator (light coverage but buildable). I could have never worn a “glowy” foundation a couple of years ago. It accentuates texture. My texture is gone, the tone of my complexion is great. I never suffered from blue spots or hyperpigmentation. But yes, when your complexion is better, your makeup will look better.
So, what did I use to improve my complexion? Mostly The Ordinary products but also Tatcha products and HYDRATION!!! I would go to [www.theordinary.com](https://www.theordinary.com) and let the experts there tell you what you need.
If you’re still using soap, stop. If your face feels “squeaky clean” and tight after you wash it, STOP using the product that makes you “squeaky clean”. You are ruining your skin’s barrier. This is very basic advice. I don’t know your skin and I’m not a dermatologist. I’ve learned a lot about skincare in the last year and have pretty much perfected my complexion. Your skin care needs are probably different than mine. I would encourage you to visit The Ordinary website tho…Tatcha if you can afford it 😮 Good luck!
Oh yeah for sure! If my skin is bad makeup actually makes me look worse.
It will look a lot better, toners have made my pores look smaller so the makeup has an easier time “filling” them in, so it looks smoother. My dark circles have improved some as well, but what’s also helped is using color correctors under my eyes and on hyperpigmentation before I apply foundation and concealer. I only use a thin layer and I can use much less product over top to hide it. Can use yellow/apricot/red under the eyes and green for any redness, etc. Game changer.
