I have never used a lip liner before and am a little confused as to how to choose a color that matches another lip product … I find it a little weird that they are not sold together ? Should I just watch it on a website and hope for the best? Can a lip liner also be used with a tinted lip balm instead of a lipstick?
They don’t need to match colors. You can have a darker liner that ombres into a lighter color. You can have a liner that matches your skin tone a little bit. A nude lipliner is the most important one to have. Honestly they’re usually not needed. But yes they can be used with tinted lip balm. They can even be used by themselves over the whole lip

I just wear red and nudes lipsticks paired with berry and brown liner shades. If you have two toned lips, you can use liner w/out lipstick and add gloss to keep the liner moisturized. Good hack.
