I used to always have this problem until I tried the Clinique Fit Workout mascara. It isn’t removed with makeup remover or oil, just water. Sounds counter intuitive but it’s seriously the only mascara I’ve ever used that doesn’t transfer or run. I’m convinced it’s magic.
Do you usually get moisturizer or face oil on your eyelashes when moisturizing? I always had this problem until i stopped swiping my face products over my eyes 🙂
Japanese mascara solved the problem for both directions on my hooded eyes. I tried almost every expensive and drug store brand under the sun it felt like.
Now I typically stick with Heroine Make long and Curl Super Water Proof or Advance Film. I typically use their Speedy Remover or a cleansing balm to remove it.
In a pinch, I can usually get by by adding Inglot’s Duraline to a regular mascara but there’s some trial and error to get it to the right consistency.
This always tends to happen to me. I use primer, medium coverage foundation, and concealer. Then I set with some Laura Mercier powder, and I apply mascara. I try to get as much excess product off the wand as I can and I only use one coat. It always looks fine at first, but about half an hour later I inevitably have a black streak under my eyes, which I have to clean up and then reapply my concealer and powder 😩
I have this problem with every type of mascara! I don’t set my under eyes as they’re dry but it does cause my mascara to transfer. I use a clear eyebrow gel on top of dried mascara – I use the NYX clear brow gel. Hope that helps 😊
I totally have the same problem. I think the combination of chubby cheeks and laughing too much doomed my bottom lash mascara. I tried everything. Setting powder/spray under eyes, waterproof mascara, expensive and cheap….nothing kept the under eye smudge away. So one day I went down a rabbit hole on google, determined to find out what other people do to prevent this. The answer I found on a blog was tubular mascara. Which of course I never heard of. Supposedly, instead of just coating or painting the lash, tubular mascara forms around the lash. Yeah I dunno. But I was desperate and decided to try it. So No7 Stay Perfect mascara is apparently tubular. I found it at Target. And by God, the tubes or whatever it is worked. No more smudging from regular wear. Have I tested it while sweating in 100 degree weather? No. Have I tested it crying? Nope. Have I tested it after a long sweaty workout? Negative. But every day normal 8 hour work day wear didn’t smudge. And that is what I wanted. I only have the smudge problem on my bottom lashes, so I use the tubular mascara on the bottom and my regular favorite mascara on top.

Just a thin, light layer of translucent powder! I don’t wear concealer or foundation, so I just have my skin bare, which can be a problem since my skin is always moisturized from my skincare routine and the mascara likes to smudge onto my skin. The powder prevents it from rubbing off for me
I use a separate mascara for my lower lash line, either waterproof or tubing formulas. In the past I’ve used the MAC gigablack lash and now I’m using the waterproof sky high mascara by maybelline.
Either use a waterproof mascara on the bottom lashes only, or try taking a damp makeup sponge dipped in setting powder, and gently stamp it under your eyes. Its okay if the powder looks like you put too much at first. Wait like 20 seconds and then take a small fluffy brush and lightly flick/buff away the leftover powder. That’s my personal foolproof way of preventing mascara transfer.
Thrive Cosmetics mascara. It’s my favorite and I’ve been using it for years. It’s a gel mascara that comes of with water. It’s not tubes, it comes off in what looks like a small spider web. It’s THE BEST.
I stamp the mascara wand sideways on my actual skin slightly below my real lashline to make fake lower lashes that don’t transfer. It also makes my eyes look bigger.
For the record: yeah, it’s a little messy/grungey looking up close but not particularly noticeable as a hack.
OK so I am not the best person to ask but I took a tip from John MacLean. That might not be how you spell his name but I ended up getting the Mac mascara brush and it’s basically this tiny little fan and you basically paint the top of your bottom eyelashes so that you don’t get mascara underneath them and everywhere, it allows you to subtly apply lower lash mascara. It’s like the most expensive thing I own, a single brush from Mac for a lot of money in terms of like what I have but it is amazing for my bottom eyelashes.

I use a waterproof mascara and a matte textured primer and moisturizer that doesn’t have an oily finish.
Meanwhile in S Korea women are so dewy they look like they emerged from a sauna and manage to keep their mascara on?? Idk how they do it!
Tubing mascara! I use Loreal Double Extend

Waterproof mascara & put a little setting powder under your eyes 💕

be careful blinking 😀 (it’s honestly just being very careful and waiting for the mascara to dry before you relax your eyes)
Waterproof mascara
This always happens to me so I just apply the mascara and let it happen then take a q tip and wipe it off after
I always used make up remover rounds cut in half for the bottom and a spoon for the top lid.
I always have this problem with mascara unless I use waterproof 😖
Tubing mascara
I like the glossier mascara. I believe it’s a tubing mascara
Use a tubing mascara like Kevin Aucoin or MCO beauty (if you’re in Australia!). These are also easy to remove compared to waterproof 🙂
I use a separate mascara for my lower lash line, either waterproof or tubing formulas. In the past I’ve used the MAC gigablack lash and now I’m using the waterproof sky high mascara by maybelline.

Tubing mascara is the way to go. I like No7’s one in the gold tube.
the smoothest and best applying mascara i have is when i run the tube under hot water for 10 seconds. i don’t know why it works but it does
Use a lash primer before applying your mascara. Use a lash comb to straighten out lumps and fall-out.
Maybe put regular mascara on top lashes and waterproof on the bottom only? I use two different mascaras for top and bottom.
Estee lauder double wear mascara.
