Heard a lot of great things about Juvia’s Place Eye Shadow and bought the Wahala 2 Palette a few months ago (November 2020). I wanted to love it because of the history of the colors and pigmentation, but I just find the mattes to be patchy and hard to blend. The blue and green mattes were the reason I bought this and not making them work for me is disappointing. Metallics / shimmers are beautiful though. I was wondering if there is a technique to mix them well or how to make them work in general?
Hi! I dont have that palette, but Juvia’s mattes are dry in general. You may want to watch some tutorials on youtube. i know tammy clarke and Angelica Nvquist did some.
What I do with almost every colourful shadow is that I pat it in until I have built the saturation I want and then blend it. To do this, I use an angled brush or a flat or a pencil one. Once I’m satisfied, I go over with a fluffy, bigger brush and blend it. If I think it looks weird, I take a bit of translucent powder or a skin-like shadow (in my case, a peachy or creamy one) and over the edges with it, until it looks better.
Hope it helps!
