Hi guys!! I was really into makeup and knew all the hot stuff and how to put on makeup. Well, life came along and I stopped wearing it for a long time. Now I’m new and having issues with my foundation which still has the baked-on look. I cleanse and hydrate and always prime my face before makeup! It clumps in some areas and comes off completely when mixed and I just can’t make it look like skin !! Can anyone here who is a “makeup guru” give me any advice or reasons why this might be happening? Would love the product suggestions, high budget and small !! I will give more information if necessary. Thanks guys, I appreciate it 😆
What is your skin type and what foundation and primer are you using? Blending with a brush or sponge?
Oh my gosh I literally have the same problem I prime my face I use moisturizer, wash it I use Marcelle foundation with SPF I’m thinking of changing it it comes off lately especially around my nose area does anyone know why???? My skin type is oily towards the four head but the nose isn’t so I don’t know if it’s the foundation or it’s my skin. It’s ruining my whole look
I like to use my beauty blender in between each step in the makeup process. Just to lightly tap all over the face. I think it helps everything look more natural and nicely blended. If anything looks cakey or too heavy, I like to spritz my sponge with setting spray and lightly tap over the skin. I’ve definitely been guilty of being too heavy-handed with my foundation, so sometimes just starting with less product and then building up can help too.

What is your skin type? If you have dry skin you should get a foundation that is formulated for dry skin and visa versa. The same goes for your primers etc.
Also, some primers are plain terrible. Have you tried the foundation without a primer? If the foundation works on you without a primer, then it’s probably the culprit.
What do you use to apply? Have you tried switching tools? Some foundations act up if you apply them with the wrong tool (beautyblender, brush).
Have you replaced your old foundation since you started wearing it again? I had the same issue after not wearing makeup for a few months during lockdown, ended up buying a new bottle of the same foundation and it worked a treat again and didn’t have any issues with clumping. Also possible that your skin has changed slightly and isn’t reacting to foundation the same? Might be worth trying a new combo of foundation/primer or switching up your application routine, sometimes that helps me get back into wearing makeup after a break.
