I would also like to hear from someone who has tried this. I’m currently using Derma E Vitamin C serum and I like it but of course I’m always curious about other products.
Currently using it again, took a break from it for some reason but I can’t remember why I stopped. I really like it honestly, my acne scars and dark spots have noticeably improved and my complexion is brighter. I have not noticed breakouts that I could attribute to this serum, fairly confident my last small breakout was caused by wearing foundation and a mask. I’d say give it a shot, Cerave products are overall great quality.
I’ve been curious about this too. I have sensitive skin and get really dry patches in the winter and cerave bar soap is all I can use. I’ve looked at this and the hylauronic acid one too. Hopefully someone that has tried them will chime in.
I use this every morning under my moisturizer. It absorbs very quickly so I can get a move on with my day. No strong smell and I haven’t noticed any issues with breakouts but then again my skin is extremely dry and breakouts have never been my main issue. There is a warning about the possibility of discoloration of the product but it hasn’t happened to me yet (3 months in). Give it a shot, it’s reasonably priced so very little risk in that regard.
This is the only Vitamin c serum that hasn’t broken me out!!! I love it!!! I use it in the morning under my moisturizer. My skin is dry, and this doesn’t irritate me. I also use tretinoin at night and haven’t had any issues using the both. For the price it costs, it’s with giving it a shot. It hasn’t oxidized and I’ve had it for about four months. I am not sure how well it has worked at brightening my skin and evening my skin tone but this is the first vitamin C that hasn’t irritated my skin.
I actually love cerave. I think the best way to try a product to see if it works for you, pick some up and just try it. It’s priced in the range where it’s not the end of the world if you decide you don’t like it. Vit E oil is also a great idea if you dead with dry skin. I also have a Walmart recommendation, if you have pretty dry skin. Use the Aveeno baby eczema therapy lotion, it’s thick and moisturizing, I always use it if I’m having a dry day, after a heavy exfoliation, or when I want a flawless day for my makeup. Highly recommend.
*Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum joins CeraVe’s other anti-aging products, this one offering, as the name states, vitamin C (ascorbic acid) for brightening and skin tone improvement. Although the fragrance-free formula’s 10% concentration of vitamin C is impressive, the inclusion of one troublemaking ingredient keeps us from strongly recommending this.*
*Packaged in an opaque, flexible metal tube with a needle-nose dispensing tip, this thin-textured cream-gel glides over the face, setting to a nearly weightless finish suitable for all skin types. The tube and small opening beautifully protect the light- and air-sensitive vitamin C (and other delicate ingredients) during use, which is great.*
*What’s not so great is the questionable amount of drying denatured alcohol this serum contains. You’ll “smell” and feel its quick-drying action with each use, which is why we’re even more concerned about the risk it presents to skin; see More Info for details.*
*Back to some positives, the formula contains hydrating glycerin and panthenol plus skin-replenishing ceramides and sodium hyaluronate. What a shame most of those beneficial ingredients are present in low amounts; alcohol is given more prominence, but that’s to your skin’s detriment.*
* *Contains 10% vitamin C in a weightless, silky texture.*
* *Packaged to keep the vitamin C stable during use.*
* *Provides skin-replenishing ceramides and sodium hyaluronate.*
* *Fragrance free.*
***CONS:***
* *Amount of alcohol poses a risk of irritating skin.*
* *Contains more denatured alcohol than replenishing ingredients.*
I used it for a while — kept it in my mini fridge. There’s nothing wrong with it.
BUT I’m a sh** candidate for effectiveness, since I have nothing on my face to brighten.
I use this. I love the texture. More of a serum/gel texture than liquid like other vitamin c’s. Makes it easier to apply. Also love the packaging. Dropper bottles drive me insane.
I store mine in the fridge. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks now and haven’t noticed any discoloring like some of the other commenters here have mentioned.
I’ve been using the ordinary vitamin C/ hyaluronic acid lotion. Its not a serum so it’s much more stable. Its 23% and so far I really like it. And its $5!!
I had great success with it. Used every morning for almost a year, I think 2 or 3 tubes worth, until I just recently switched to The Inky List because it has 15% vitamin C. I like the consistency of the CeraVe better, because it’s easily spreadable and not gritty at all, but I’m going to keep with the new one a bit to see if I get more results with the higher percent c.
Yes! I love it. I’m almost finished with my third tube and it’s now a staple in my routine. My skin looks so much glowier and fresh since I started using it.
I highly recommend L’oreal revitalift serum. Been using it for just over a month and my skin is a lot smoother and my darker sun damage marks have almost disappeared. I’m so disappointed in myself that I didn’t take before photos!!
I haven’t used this particular one. I use the ordinary vitamin c serum. I would assume they’re all pretty similar. Just be careful about sun exposure and mixing with other products (like chemical exfoliants).

I tried it on a whim. I liked the way it felt, but the serum turned a very dark brown within about a week or so, even after storing it properly.

I’ve always wanted to try this vitamin C serum. I have read some bad reviews that has scared me from trying it.

Edit: you find it in the baby section.

This is my new go-to vit c.

AOC likes it therefore I will like it.
I really liked it! I have oily skin. Made my skin look brighter and feel really hydrated but not greasy. It also helped some of my discoloration!
Yes! I love it. I’m almost finished with my third tube and it’s now a staple in my routine. My skin looks so much glowier and fresh since I started using it.
Cereve eye creams love my skin but hate my actual eye balls. 🤷🏻♀️
A good vitamin c product I’ve used for cheap is this. Use sparingly or mix with moisturizer! Works amazingly [link here](https://www.safeway.com/shop/product-details.960260399.html)
Still recovering from it to like it, my skin got very dry. Currently in an odd phase before reintroducing.
Started using it 2 weeks ago, not enough time to see a difference but I haven’t noticed any irritation or redness
I have tried and am now a daily user of this product. Love it! I use this serum in my day routine. I’ve received comments such as, “your skin glows”
I like this and use it everyday. I have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin.
I highly recommend L’oreal revitalift serum. Been using it for just over a month and my skin is a lot smoother and my darker sun damage marks have almost disappeared. I’m so disappointed in myself that I didn’t take before photos!!
