I think it’s great you improvised with old paint brush! It looks great! A lot of people use and prefer eyeshadow and water. Do what works for you. Have fun with it.
This is a good attempt! Next time, I would suggest trying to keep the line on the inner third of your eye thinner/closer to the lid, and connect your wing a couple millimeters down from the end of the line so it has a more tapered tip (I hope that makes sense). I’m awful with eyeliner even after practicing a lot — using a brush with shadow is a great way to build skill.
