I’m not a professional by any means, so this is just what I would use as far as makeup goes if I had the same skin concerns as you.. You could try a pore filling/minimizing primer. For the under eye issue, you could try using a concealer with a warm/golden undertone? In my experience, unfortunately, it seems like the pricier products provide better results. This may not be true withe every brand though, I have some inexpensive products that work way better than other high end products I’ve tried under the same category. But for example, especially when it comes to concealer and foundation, I’m a WOC with medium skin and a golden undertone, the drugstore concealers more often than not give me that white/grey “ashy” cast on my under eyes, so I buy higher end concealers instead.. I don’t know much about makeup for very textured skin, so hopefully you can get some good advice!!
I’m a makeup super noob. All my attempts with makeup so far have left my face looking cakey, my pores bigger and my under eye with a super white-grey cast.
I have had hormonal acne and acne for about 10 years because of bad scalp and PCOS/D. There’s a lot of (what I believe is) leftover scarring and humongous pores. I have insanely deep set dark circles which I would like to conceal.
I have combination skin, with tendency to sweat even in mildly warm weather. I’m looking to learn to do makeup.
I’m currently in a middle eastern country but I’ll be shifting to EC USA in a couple months. I’d appreciate inexpensive product and routine suggestions that may be global or specific to US (I’ll buy it once I get there).
I have the same texture from highschool acne and there’s nothing I can do to hide it in except a pore filling/smoothing primer does help a teensy bit. Look for the ones that will make your skin feel velvety after application. Smashbox’s original is good for that, but I don’t love the way these primers work for foundation application for all of my foundations, so I like a more grip primer for longer wear (like Milk makeup). Also I found my texture is fine, as long as I don’t draw attention to it. I’ll avoid certain foundations (honestly it’s trial and error) and sparkly/shimmery blush which tends to accentuate my pores there. Instead I really love liquid blush or sheer glowy cream blushes (also milk makeup’s glow blushes) that give it a natural flushed look
