Founding Story
Initially, GuineaDad started with an Instagram account to show off my three little princesses (Peanut, Tofu, and Dumpling).
After a year or so, Tofu developed a bacterial conjunctivitis in one of her eyes. I visited many vets to treat her, but to no avail. I looked around pet shops and online stores, I interviewed guinea pig experts (lab researchers, breeders, pet nutritionists, and vets) to see how I can help her. As it goes, I stumbled upon a sad truth of the market; the products for guinea pigs and small animals are sub-par because they are not as profitable as the ‘mainstream’ pets such as cats and dogs. Myself, as well as many others, were forced into DIY solutions.
As a result of this experience, I decided to dedicate my time to produce high-quality products, and help piggies around the world live their lives to the fullest. With the support of many industry experts, I created GuineaDad Liner. I can confidently say that our product is the perfect mix of science and love. We put the utmost care in design, manufacturing and testing to ensure the highest possible quality for our little friends. Product Description
GuineaDad Liner is a patented healthy bedding option for guinea pigs that replaces paper bedding and wooden shaving. The features include:
Super Absorbent – Highly absorbent. It is able to take in up to three times its weight in water. It absorbs moisture away from the fleece layer to keep the fleece and small animal’s feet dry. The dryness minimizes the chance of bumblefoot, which can be life-threatening for small animals.
Anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal, and Anti-microbial – Naturally anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-microbial and odor resistant. Bamboo’s natural properties reduces the chance of small animals acquiring bacteria-related disease, ranging from respiratory to conjunctivitis. The properties also minimizes odor build up.
Grows Naturally – It’s pretty obvious that we care about our small animal friends. We also care about the environment! The bamboos grow quickly without any pesticides or fertilizers. We like to use an easily renewable resource to protect our Earth.
Biodegradable – Bamboo fiber is 100% biodegradable, great for the earth. GuineaDad’s plastic free corrugated box package is made with perforated die-lines that you can tear off and use as a house.
GuineaDad Liner Maintenance Guide
Spot Clean Daily
Spot cleaning is super easy with GuineaDad Liner! It only takes 1 – 2 minutes per liner.
– Spot clean once or twice a day doing any of the following.
— Use brush and dust pan to remove poop and soiled hay.
— Hold the liner above garbage can and slide all debris into the garbage can.
Laundry Once a Week
Once a week laundry is simple. No more bags of bedding waste.
– Spot clean to make sure there is no debris.
– Machine wash cold with unscented detergent.
– Recommend using “bedding” option and/or “extra rinse” option.
– Avoid using fabric softener (you may add 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar during rinse cycle).
Drying the Liner
Be sure to follow below instruction.
– Tumble dry low or line dry.
– Avoid using dryer sheet.
– Most recommended drying routine: One cycle of tumble dry low, then hang dry indoor overnight to completely dry
Healthy Guinea Pig, Happy Guinea Pig
Our GuineaDad Liners will shrink a couple of inches after a few initial washes. Don’t worry, we’ve made the liner larger to compensate for it. The liner may still be a bit larger than the cage after the wash.
