Hello, I love Armani Luminous Silk foundation, it makes my skin look absolutely amazing. BUT I have tried two shades now that don’t work and it’s so expensive to keep buying bad shades so I hope you all can help me decide what to try next. I’m bright / clear with neutral undertones, but I got the 5 and 4.75 and the two aren’t quite close. 5 is the closest match, although it looks quite yellow to me and too dark. 4.75 was worse – for some reason it appeared darker and just as yellow, although it’s supposed to have pink undertones. I would be okay with 5 just a lighter shade (although it probably wouldn’t be an exact match with the shades), but it doesn’t seem like it’s even an option. 4.5, the neutral with an earlier number says “light to medium” which makes me think it may actually be darker than the 5 which is just “light”. I’m tempted to try the 3.75, but I think it might be too light, and the swatches I’ve seen make it look pretty pink and not as neutral. I think any shades of peach or gold (most of the previous numbers) will just look orange to me since the neutral already appears yellow. Thoughts?

try finding someone similar to your skin tone who uses the foundation on youtube. it could be a big help
I don’t know if this helps in any way but when I got shade matched at a counter once, the woman said the numbers were a bit weird. I was matched with shade 5 but she said for some reason lower numbers (for example 4 – I can’t remember exactly what ones she said) are actually darker. I don’t know enough about shade and tones myself and I’m really bad at colour matching myself, I just remember that’s what she said so it may be worth keeping that in mind and try to find descriptions of the shades.
