Guys I never wear blush because I have naturally red cheeks just because I blush all the time (lol) and have kp on my cheeks. But I randomly bought an elf contour kit with blush and YOU GUYS ….. it makes me look so much more alive ???? Why have I never done this before ?? I looked so uncohesive with just a bronzer and a highlighter. Blush is a game changer. I’m sure you all know that already, but I’m just really excited. Love u queens happy monday!
AHHH SAME! I never used blush for the longest time bc I thought it’d look clownish or too extra but I found a way to apply it so it looks really flattering (the Lisa Eldridge technique) and I can’t stop buying blush now. I thought bronzer was enough color for me but wow it’s such a good feeling to wear blush I feel youuuuu❤️
So weird to see this post, I just gave blush another try today and felt the same! I have rosacea so do my best to un-red my face as much as possible, so always avoid blush. But I gave it ago and felt so much more put together.
Literally me, I’ve been wearing makeup for 6 years now and I hated blush and never wore it. UNTIL I FOUND the shade that actually suits my skin. It was like “wow! This does make a difference!”
I just tried a new shade one of of my blush kits and I wanna kick myself in the ass! This color looks amazing on me! It was a light orange color and I was like nahhh lol
I agree that blush can be a game changer when you figure out how to wear it on your own face— application and shade. Getting it wrong can unfortunately ruin a look, but figuring it out is so worth it! Blush is now my favorite part of makeup.
I remember the first bunch of tutorials taught me to smile and apply on the apples of my cheeks. It was so wrong for me and took me a while to figure it out LOL
RIGHT???? I used to always skip it because i had never found a proper shade for my tan/golden skin, but Orgasm by NARS is my go-to now! and i love the slightly flushed look i get from it <3
Same! I never used bush because I was worried I’d look like my grandma, and then I started to notice all of the “cute” Snapchat filters had lots of blush. I use it to make my cheeks look less chubby
I’m so glad it worked for you! I’m still fiddling with blush to see what works best (I’m medium to dark skin) but I’m glad someone else got the hang of it!
Yeah I feel like around 2015 with all the emphasis on contour and such the beauty industry really shifted away from makeup that actually looked human and alive, I’m glad it kind of seems to be trending back towards a more natural, healthy and NOT MATTE look
YUP YUP YUP. i’ve always been a whore for blush. i’m elated that folks are starting to use it more. it is so beautiful. there is a pink for every tone of skin, too.
I personally hate how all blushes, ive tried, look awful on me but I also don’t do highlighter and just a light bronze.
I can never seem to apply it evenly so I don’t use it! I look up tons on where to apply based on my face shape and still struggle.
I recently got a finishing powder that is way too light for me. Being as I am, I refused to return it and just use it. I found out that if I gently dip my powder brush in the lightest blush I have, and brush it over my powder that it looks alot more natural! Blush really is a game changer! I also have naturally red cheeks (thanks, ginger genes) and always just avoided blush but it really does help! Good job on finding one that works for you in the way you want it to!
I know a lot of people worry about wearing too much blush but IDGI. Unless you’re going for a natural look, most MU isn’t designed to look natural, so why would blush be? I love me some excess blush!! it definitely makes you look younger and more alert
Blush is literally the key between “having makeup on” and “wow, you look so amazing!”. I never skip it because my face looks weird without it. Even just a little bit of color can improve anyone.
Blush is my obsession. If I have to run out the door and don’t have time for makeup I still sweep on some blush and that’s it. Or I did, pre mask era anyway. I wear it over the top of my cheeks and nose and it makes me happy how it brightens up my face so much and so simply.
It was *really* out of fashion until a year or two ago though (when contour and highlight and nude everything was fashionable), so if you started wearing makeup during that time I can see why a lot of people skipped over it. I’ve always loved the pink cheeked dollish look so I’m glad it’s been coming back.
