Hi everyone, I recently got into makeup and right now I’m trying to figure out each part of makeup one by one. I’ve already mastered mascara and can kind of do lipstick, so I switched to eyeliner. I got liquid eyeliner because I had tried pencil eyeliner in the past and didn’t like it, but found it really hard to apply eyeliner liquid with my hooded eyes without smearing it all over my eye and looking like a raccoon. I watched a few tutorials but they ended up not being very helpful. I finally found a good guide to hooded eye makeup, but the woman in the video said you shouldn’t be using eyeliner on hooded eyes at all. Is there something missing? Do I just need to practice? Should I listen to this video and forget about the eyeliner? Thank you

I just try to make the line as thin as possible
I typically start with my left eye and do a bat wing liner. I start on my left bc it’s easier for me to mimic on my right (I’m right handed so makes sense). It will take practice but we can definitely do eyeliner!
Sounds like you need to let the eyeliner dry and set, probably 2-3 minutes with your eyes closed for it to set so it won’t smear. I don’t have hooded eyes personally but I am fantastic at screwing up my makeup, so what I’ll usually do is after I get my eyeliner on the way I want it I’ll sit or lay on the bed for a couple minutes so it dries without me smudging it into my crease and then I can do the next steps of my makeup (for me I like to do eye concentrate before my concealer so this is when I apply that and let it soak in while my eyeliner is drying)
I have pretty hooded eyes and I rarely use eyeliner. If you wanna use it I’d recommend getting an eyelid primer to keep shadows and liners from smearing around and getting on your upper lid
