Question in general. Why is makeup so popular now than in the early 2000s? I grew up in the 90s and my mom always did makeup when I was younger. Her occasional eyeliner, mascara, powder blush and lipstick. It was the way I followed when I was in high school. Now that I’m a little older and wiser … it’s all about foundation, primer, eyeliner, mascara, lashes and nail polish.
Huh???
Accessibility in price, in shade range, in availability, and information. You don’t have to go to a makeup counter or hire a makeup artist to get your makeup done or to learn about makeup. It’s just so much easier now to buy and to consume makeup.
Changing culture, for sure. It’s viewed less as trying to hide/change your face, and more as an art form. It’s also more acceptable to wear a full face in informal settings.
