Hi everyone, I’m a makeup artist and I really don’t like wearing too much, but I’m looking for recommendations for two types of products. I prefer not to trial and error with a lot of different products, which is why I ask … 1) A product to make my oily hooded lids look matte and “done” for the day. I bought an Urban Decay primer, but then realized it was designed to go under eye shadow. I don’t wear eye shadow or eyeliner, just mascara, and I would like something I can put on on my own. Long-lasting is good! About ten years ago I used a product from Makeup Forever that I really liked but can’t remember the name of, and I even think they make it anymore. 2) Basic concealer for dark circles and some fine lines (I’m in my early 30s). I have very fair skin and unfortunately still prone to rashes at this age (although the skincare addiction and tretinoin subreddits have helped a lot!). Non-comedogenic and fragrance-free products are the best, and as a bonus if they are available from Sephora. TYSM in advance !!
You can – I do- use UD potion alone to keep eyeliner intact. Depending on your skin tone, you can find matte shadow for your eyelids. As a white lady, Maybelline 24h Tattoo cream shadow in Rose de Roses is a lovely greige. So is the matte in e.l.f. Rose Water.
If you have dark circles, you need a corrector first, peachy to correct purple shadows. Nyx is cheap & effective. Becca is more spendy and highly rated. Bc you don’t want to emphasise fine lines, you might find that is sufficient, or just a serum foundation or tinted moisturiser. Lines might be better addressed through skin care.
My recommendations suit me, so you might need different shades, depending on your colouring. Hope that helps
