I know next to nothing about it, but I’ve heard people rave about it. Is it worth the hype? How is it used? I am currently using Neutrogena makeup wipes. Would it take their place? How is the app? I’m sorry, I know I might be downgraded because I didn’t just google. But I really want to hear in your own words from this community what you think about it. I have read that it is leave-in – is it true? How is it applied to the skin / the best way to apply? What are the best products in this top-of-the-range pharmacy, whichever is the best? I just use it on a cotton round and press to my eye for a couple seconds then wipe off. I donāt use any other face wash, I just apply hyaluronic acid + moisturizer after wiping off my makeup. I donāt know if thatās smart or not.
It takes off my makeup fine, but I donāt really wear foundation, rarely wear concealer, and my mascara doesnāt say itās waterproof (though it doesnāt smudge when I go swimming unless I rub my eyes). Even so, if Iām lazy (i.e. donāt hold it against my eyes for a bit to loosen the mascara) Iāll sometimes wake up with smears around my eyes.
I donāt know if people really āraveā about it. Itās cheap, okay for most people with sensitive skin, and easily available. But it probably wonāt change your life unless youāre using a really harsh cleanser that causes irritation or something.
Micellar water is great because it’s cheap and does take most makeup off. But it won’t take off waterproof makeup, unless the formulation is made for that – those will typically be biphasic removers and contain oil as well.
I’ve been using Garnier with the pink cap for ages. It’s very decent and doesn’t irritate anything whatsoever. Neutrogena Hydroboost micellar water did sting my eyes, and they’re not particularly sensitive, so I wouldn’t recommend that one.
What I use for removing makeup depends. If I’m wearing lots of bright eyeshadow, I will use a remover wipe simply because it has more space. I have used cotton rounds, but with these I feel like I need at least one, if not two, for each eye, so a wipe makes more sense. For everyday makeup like brows and mascara one round for both eyes is enough.
You don’t have to rinse but you might feel fresher if you do. And it should be followed up with facial cleanser. Some people do use it as their only cleanser, but I find it’s not enough if using makeup.

I like it better than wipes. Actually I hate wipes. Iāve been using micellar water for years. I use cotton rounds. After makeup removal, I cleanse my face before using the moisturizer just to make sure my face is clean. If I just use the micellar water, I still feel dirty. Thatās me anyway.

Tbh the only way I personally use it is to clean up makeup mistakes while Iām working. If you are very careful, it sometimes will just take off the offending error, or will at least take off a precise point of makeup so that you can try again with that wing or whatever.
I do not find it helpful as a makeup remover otherwise. I use a makeup removing balm at the end of the day, then a foaming cleanser.
