Love the eye look!! For the picture I use my back camera (pointing at my eyelid) and a mirror to see if I like how it looks before I take a picture. I do this because the back camera is usually higher quality than the front camera.
I know it came out a while ago, but I’ve been out of the loop for a bit with new makeup releases. And I just couldn’t resist the Ultraviolet palette! I checked out some reviews where people seemed mostly underwhelmed, citing that Urban Decay hasn’t changed up their formula in the last few years, and that there are plenty of purple shades/palettes already available, especially from indie brands.
But so far, so good from me! I just got the palette today, and really wanted to utilize as many colors as possible. I like Urban Decay’s formula just fine, so I’m pleased with how the shades perform. Especially Optimized, the matte pale pink-purple, and Euphoric, the cool blue purple shimmer I just can’t get enough of. The only one that disappointed me was V.R., the coppery duochrome. It’s very sheer, and will serve best as a topper shade. Warning, the hot pink satin/shimmer, took a little work for the color pay-off, but we got there!
Overall, I adore the color story. I think this palette presents great opportunities to incorporate purples into “everyday” looks without having to reach for another palette. I give it an 8.5/10.
Gorgeous colors! For my makeup looks, I use both flash and/or by a lit window with sunlight. Makes my eye color visible, skin tone conceivable, and shadow blending (or lack thereof)
